Description

The first known records of the cannabis plant being utilized for medicinal and healing purposes dates back to 4500 BC. Approaching the 20th century cannabis was the most common ingredient in almost all over the counter medications. It seemed that cannabis was here to stay, that is until the early 1900s.

This course will take you on a journey to understand how the lost art and science of the healing properties of the hemp plant has shaped our current understanding of this important area of plant based medicine.

You will explore the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) and it’s importance of “directing and correcting” almost every cellular process in our body. The ECS has roles in digestion, inflammation, immunity, stress responses, wakeful and restful states and has been shown to be neurologically protective following injury to our nervous system.

Science has been limited in its progress in the fields of endocannabinoid and phytocannabinoid science; until now.

The landscape of our understanding of cannabinoid science and its role in our overall health is changing everyday. In this course, research and therapeutic applications for cannabinoid medicine will be presented objectively in the areas of pain, sleep, anxiety and depression. You will be challenged to think outside the box on your current beliefs about physical and mental health; and how patient preference, clinical evidence and scientific research all play a key role in patient centered care.

You will complete this course with many answers to the questions you may have about the CBD industry, it’s growing popularity and your role in helping your patients and clients become more educated in this area of medicine.
